DESIGN CONSULTANT LISETTE COEN REVEALS THE BEST PLACES FOR OUTDOOR ANTIQUES

Some have the ability to look at an object and know exactly where it belongs. There is no waffling or second-guessing—they simply know. Design consultant Lisette Coen is one of those people. A former marketer for MTV, Coen has spent the last decade raising four kids and honing her interior design aesthetic.

"It's my passion," Coen says. "People know what they like but need help getting there." When it comes to adding decoration to the poolside and in gardens, Coen looks to antique and vintage pieces for character and contrast. "Weathered pieces give the scene warmth and texture without being too obvious," she explains. "They look amazing against the freshness of a green garden, a white beach or a gray background." Recently, Coen took CTC&G on a tour of her favorite outdoor accessories shops.

Hampton Antique Galleries
Stamford's newly opened Hampton Antique Galleries is owned by interior designer Michael Rufino and antique dealer Jackie Graber. Located off I-95's Exit 8 in the city's antique warehouse district, the store carries the goods of about 60 dealers. Its sister location is in Bridgehampton, N.Y.
