Interior designer Philip Gorrivan brought a celebration of life and beauty to the CTC&G table at this year's Red & White Ball benefiting the Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross on May 15. Staying with the red-and-white theme, Gorrivan wanted the soft and sensual quality of his design to develop organically. Using Ralph Lauren Home's Shore Paisley as the base, he created a towering centerpiece of red-and-white flowers in a custom vase by Frances Palmer, who also provided her creamware place settings. Gorrivan added several sculptures by emerging artist Calyxte Campe along with custom-made Lindt chocolate bark. The stemware and flatware by William Yeoward added sophisticated touches. "Designing for special events is a great creative exercise for a designer," says Gorrivan. "The results are immediate and you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor."
