More than mere investment vehicles, the vast array of Buddha images spawned by so many cultures and time periods offer a window into history.
"People acquire images to relate to them, to study where they are from and to think about them," says Barbara Loeding, co-owner of the Silk Road Gallery in Branford. "Cultures, everyday artifacts and artwork all revolved around Buddhas. If collectors really get into how these images came about, that will take them on a fascinating journey back in time."
