CEO/Publication Director: Marianne Howatson
Marianne Howatson is a career media executive with broad experience in magazines and the internet.
Ms. Howatson has published some of the country's finest magazines including Travel and Leisure and Self Magazines where she was the first female publisher at both Condé Nast and American Express Publishing. Subsequently, as Group Publisher at Gruner+Jahr USA, a division of Bertelsmann, she oversaw the growth and strategic positioning of Parents, YM, Expecting, Baby Care and the Ser Padres network of Spanish language publications.
During the internet boom she was a founding member of ScreamingMedia/Pinnacor (acquired by MarketWatch in 2005) which streamed content solutions and syndication services to Fortune 1000 companies, portals and wireless networks in seven languages.
Ms. Howatson was born and educated in Scotland at Craigie College Ayr, and Jordanhill College, Glasgow, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Having lived in Westport for 30 years, Ms Howatson now lives in a home that "hangs over" the Silvermine River in Wilton.
Editor-in-Chief: D.J. Carey
CTC&G editor-in-chief D.J. Carey has a wealth of experience in design media, having begun her career at House & Garden, followed by stints at Ladies' Home Journal and Redbook, among others. At CTC&G, she helps showcase the best Connecticut has to offer. "Connecticut has such a rich history of design that most of us are unaware of," she says. "This is a great opportunity to enlighten those who live in Connecticut about what is in their own backyards." However, her skills influence all Cottages & Gardens products. Carey lives in a 19th-century farmhouse in Norwalk, Connecticut, with her husband and daughter.
Advertising Director: Amy Tambini
Amy M. Tambini has been with the company from the initial launch of HC&G in 2001. Tambini was integral in successfully launching Cottages & Gardens into three additional markets. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Cottages & Garden brand and its communities make her well suited to oversee advertising sales for C&G Publications. Tambini is intimately acquainted with each of our magazines and has the creativity to develop strategic marketing programs for both national and local clients. A resident of Westport, Connecticut, Tambini is involved with many local charities and organizations.
Associate Publisher, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens:
Pamela Eldridge HC&G Associate Publisher Pamela Eldridge was hired as sales director at Hamptons Cottages & Gardens in 2004 and rose to associate publisher in 2008, helping double the magazine's advertising pages in that period. Eldridge was most recently sales director for Plum TV in the Hamptons, helping broaden the home furnishings category for the high-end lifestyle network. She has considerable experience in advertising and communications for clients in luxury categories, most notably the jewelry segment. She was director of advertising and public relations for Verdura jewelry and prior to that a media coordinator for artisan Barry Kieselstein-Cord. She began her career in advertising for the Financial Times in New York. Eldridge has been a full-time resident of the Hamptons since 2004 and currently resides in East Hampton.
